NORWICH SIGN NEWCASTLE TARGET ON LOAN FOR NEXT SEASON

Chelsea’s young midfielder Billy Gilmour has signed for Norwich City on loan ahead of the 2021-22 English Premier League season, according to official confirmation by both clubs. Gilmour will join the Canaries on the back of an impressive Euros campaign he had with Scotland where he was awarded the star of the match award in one of the games he played at the tournament. The 20-year-old midfield sensation broke out of the Blues’ youth set up under former manager Frank Lampard two seasons ago and has gone from strength to strength since making his debut fr the London outfit.

The Chelsea youth academy product has been getting a lot of praise for his impressive performances in a Chelsea shirt and was even commended by Thomas Tuchel as being a star for the future. The youngster has now been wished good luck by his teammates on his new adventure and have all tipped him to have a successful loan spell with Norwich, who were only recently welcomed back to the English Premier League after the remarkable campaign they had in the Championship last season.

It’s a good move from Norwich, especially after they lost their best player Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa in the summer. Buendia was Norwich’s best star last season and was consistent in putting in fine performances for the club in terms of goals, assists, and some other key contributions as well.

Gilmour was said to be a target for Newcastle United and the Tyneside club were tipped to approach Chelsea over a loan move for the midfielder but it seems like they either failed to make the move or they tried to at a very late time. Gilmour is already a Champions League winner and will be looking forward to impressing Tuchel while away on loan next season to see if he can return to the club and make a claim for a starting spot.
