Newcastle United suffered a second defeat at the start of the new Premier League campaign following the loss to hosts Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon. The two teams met at Villa Park with the Magpies conceding two goals without any reply.Newcastle United were on the end of a 2-0 loss at the hands of Aston Villa.
Callum Wilson and Jacob Murphy scored either side of the strike from West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell for Newcastle United to lead 2-1 at the break before goals from Said Benrahma, Tomas Soucek and Michail Antonio in the second half turned the game in favour of the Hammers. West Ham United scored three goals in the space of 13 second half minutes.
Aston Villa lost their first Premier League game at Watford but they were able to recover with the straightforward win over Newcastle United. Villa were beaten 3-2 by newly promoted team Watford on the opening weekend of the season.
Villa took the lead in the home game against the Magpies through summer signing Danny Ings on the stroke of half-timeand in spectacular fashion. He produced a wellexecuted overhead kick to give Villa the lead before Dutch winger Anwar El-Ghazi doubled it from the penalty spot in the second half. El-Ghazi scored the goal in the second half after Newcastle United skipper Jamaal Lascelles was adjudged to have blocked the ball with his arm.
Newcastle United have lost two out of two games in the Premier League this season alongside other teams such as Burnley, Arsenal and Norwich City.
