Newcastle United are looking over their shoulders in the battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season after the recent two results picked up by Fulham, who are in the relegation zone. Newcastle United are in the final safe spot in the league and were ten points ahead of Fulham in the final relegation place as at the weekend. Olivier Giroud came on in place of the injured Tammy Abraham in the first half and the Frenchman was responsible for the opening goal of the game before the win was sealed with the second Chelsea strike from Timo Werner, who’s back in form after a difficult few months. Timo Werner was able to score his first league goal of 2021 against the Magpies. On their part, Fulham secured an excellent 2-0 win at the home of Everton and a 1-1 draw at the home of Burnleyin their two league games this week. Nigerian striker Josh Maja was the difference as he scored twice against Everton to hand his team victory on his full debut for the club. The Everton game was the best performance of the current Premier League campaign for Fulham.
