Manager was fined and warned

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew caused injury to Hull city’s David Meyler for which he was fined £ 100000, and also gave him a formal warning. Newcastle owner mike Ashley assessed his position as Pardew’s job has emerged to be under threat. However the association said that after issuing their punishment they have drawn a line under the affair.

After the attack which took place at KC stadium on Saturday Pardew was sent to the stands by referee Kevin Friend when football association Chairman Greg dyke whispered that the governing body analyzed the incident as serious.

Pardew is definite to be fined by the FA and subjected to a stadium ban for few months. The club in a statement said that Alan apologized instantly to the player to the hull city football club and to the fans of the United Castle. He deeply regrets his actions. Alan has accepted a formal warning and also has fine imposed on him.

The incident occurred in the middle through the second half of Newcastle’s win when the Hull player accidentally pushed Pardew to regain the ball that has gone out of play. At first Pardew pushed the player and then tilted over him and then a head to head contact was made between them. Alan Pardew apologized but he persisted that it was not a fully blooded butt or a dismissal offence. He uttered that from then onwards he would be sitting on the bench and will try to keep himself out of the way.

The hull manger Steve Bruce whispered that he has not seen or observed such a thing before. The matter is over as he had apologized to everyone. Pardew is very fortunate as he didn’t get one back from David Meyler who is 25 years old or else he must have fallen in great trouble.

TOP HALF FINISH

Newcastle United are in with a shout to finish in the top half of the table or even qualify for the Europa league after the spectacular run of form for the last few months. The team are incredibly just one point behind Manchester United, who are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Right now, only the fifth placed team will take the Europa league spot, but that could change depending on the winners of the League cup and the FA Cup. Newcastle have certainly improved attacking wise following the signing of Loic Remy on a loan deal from QPR.

Manager Alan Pardew said that he is right now satisfied with the attacking prowess of the team. This has come about after tweaking the formation. The upcoming games against Norwich and Stoke provided Newcastle with a great opportunity to strengthen their push for the top six positions. Newcastle have previously finished in the top five two years ago. They missed out narrowly on the Champions league places, but Pardew is determined to make amendments for it. It has been several years since Newcastle were last seen in the Champions league.

The club has scored just over a goal per game, which is the ratio Pardew will be keen to improve in the forthcoming weeks.

“Our statistician told me we had 12 shots in the first half. In the Premier League that is a lot. We could have had more than that really. I don’t think we could have played any better in the first half. We were really good. Thirty six points is a fantastic total for us and we look forward to the second half of the season,” said Pardew.

Incredibly, the last time they had 36 points after 22 matches was when they finished fifth in 2012.

RUMOURS DENIED

The manager of Newcastle United, Alan Pardew, has denied the speculations that Fabricio Coloccini might be making an away move this January.

In one of his interviews a few days ago, Coloccini who is the skipper of Newcastle United had said that he would love to sign for an Argentinean club in future and after that statement of his, there were speculations that he might leave Newcastle during the upcoming mid-season transfer window. But, according to Pardew, there is nothing like that.

When asked about Coloccini’s recent statements, Pardew said, “To be honest, I have no idea what he said in that interview. You are never sure about the credibility of such reports. I haven’t had a chat with Fabricio regarding that. I will talk to him later this week.”

Meanwhile, Coloccini made a comeback to the starting line up of Newcastle United in their previous game against Norwich City. He played quite well in that game and helped his team end up on the winning side. Now, this has given a selection headache to Alan Pardew. If he has to keep Coloccini in the starting line up in the next game as well, he will have to drop Mike Williamson which will be a bit unfair as the English defender hasn’t done badly of late.

However, the Newcastle boss is pleased with the victory that his team secured over Norwich City.

When asked about that match, he said, “We could have played slightly better, but, then, you need to give credit to the opposition as well. They gave us a run for our money, but, the end result was in our favour and that’s what you want.”

Newcastle United’s next game is against West Bromwich Albion at St. James Park on Saturday.

PARDEW SECURE

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has dismissed suggestions that he is about to get the sack from owner Mike Ashley after a poor start to the season. Pardew managed to get to the club into the fifth place in the Premier league after coming from the Championship. They, however, struggled to replicate that good form last season and they almost were relegated to the championship. After overseeing a large turnaround of players, Pardew has been unable to get good results at the start of the season as well. His team defeated 3-2 by Everton on Monday night, but the result looked extremely bad at half-time.

After a great performance from Chelsea’s on loan striker Romelu Lukaku, Everton were leading 3-0 going into the half-time break. It was only because of a late goal that the score was respectable for Newcastle. After the match, there were rumours that Pardew was about to get the sack ahead of this weekend’s fixtures. Pardew has rejected such speculation by saying that there is no truth in those rumours and that he has the full faith of owner Mike Ashley. Ashley witnessed the poor display from his club along with the technical director Joe Kinnear at Goodison Park.

Newcastle have a tough run of fixtures starting with the match against Cardiff during the weekend.

“It’s the old saying that you can’t keep all the people happy all of the time. Well, I can’t keep any of the people happy any of the time! Most of that rumour (of his sacking) started on social media, probably by young fans or whoever, and it makes some sort of headway. The only way you can deal with it, and I’ve been a manager here for nearly three years, is you kind of have to cut yourself off and just focus on the job,” said Pardew.

TURBULENCE

Newcastle United have had a turbulent few months in which a lot has changed at the club. The arrival of former manager Joe Kinnear as the director of football has created a lot of controversy at the club. This has translated into almost no significant arrivals so far this transfer window. Newcastle barely managed to avoid relegation last season, which was a shock to many considering that they finished in fifth place the previous season. Manager Alan Pardew said after the end of last season that the club needed new faces in order to cope with the fixture schedule.

However, players have been consistently linked with a move away from St James’s Park rather than the other way around. This will change in the coming weeks according to Pardew, who has put his faith in Kinnear. He expects the former Newcastle manager to bring in good players over the next few weeks. Newcastle have been in discussions with French club Lyon for the transfer of striker Bafetimbi Gomis. It is believed that they recently increased their offer to around £ 7 million.

French striker Loic Remy has also been linked with a move to the club. He is with relegated QPR, who are looking to get him off the wage bill. Remy could come on a season-long loan deal.

“Myself and Graham Carr have given Joe the targets, but they’re difficult to get over the line. And I’m sure Joe’s trying to be very patient in trying to get the right player for us. There’s been no problem (with Kinnear). Joe’s job is to make sure that I get the support I need and he’s trying to do everything he can to do that. It’s obvious at the moment that we need a player or two and hopefully he can do that,” said Pardew.

MORE EXPERIENCE NEEDED

The manager of Newcastle United, Alan Pardew, has said that if the club had bought the experienced players in the pre season and mid season transfer windows, then, it would not have been in danger of finishing in relegation zone at this point of time.

Newcastle United is currently at the 16th position in the Premier League points table. They have played 35 matches so far out of which they have won 10; have lost 18 and the remaining 7 matches have finished in the form of draws. They still have to play three games.

The Newcastle United team has secured just 5 points in their last 8 matches. If they continue playing with this kind of form in the remaining three games, there is a good possibility that they will finish in the relegation zone.

There also have been reports that the environment in Newcastle’s dressing room is not good. There are disputes between several players and also, there are language problems as there are a lot of French players in the squad. But, Pardew has denied those reports.

The Newcastle manager said, “Frankly speaking, I don’t think language problem is the issue here. Actually, we were not that smart in the transfer market this season. We went for players who didn’t have too much experience of playing in England. That’s the main cause of team’s poor performance.”

“You can’t expect a player to go great guns in his very first season in England. It’s very hard. You need to have experience to do well in these conditions.”

Newcastle United’s next match will be against West Ham United. That match will be played on Saturday at Boleyn Ground.

When asked about that match, Pardew said, “They are a tough side to beat on their home ground. They also have a lot of experience in their squad with the likes of Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll. They are not going to make things easy for us; that’s for sure.”

“It’s a very important game for us. We desperately need three points. Hopefully, we will be able to get that.”

NOT WORRIED

Despite flirting with a relegation only a few weeks ago, the Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that he did not worry about losing his job for one moment. It was only a few weeks ago that Newcastle were closer to the relegation zone after a run of poor results. The manager himself admitted that the club will be relegated if they do not bring in a few signings in January. The board listen to his advice and brought him at least five first-team players during the January transfer window. They have made an instant impact on the team after they have managed two successive victories in the league.

Even more surprising is the fact that one of them came against the European champions Chelsea. As a result, the criticism from the supporters after the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Reading have quickly been forgotten. The manager Pardew, who guided the team to an impressive fifth-place finish last season, has said that he did not think about losing his job for a minute. Meanwhile, the sporting director Derek Llambias has praised Pardew for the work he has done on bringing the five players, while also stressing the importance of stability at the club. Stability has been lacking at Newcastle for the last decade or so.

“It’s rare in football to have the position that even with the results I’ve had, the message from upstairs was that I was going to be retained as manager. Perhaps our fans weren’t quite as happy about that at the time, but I have to try and reward the club for the backing the gave me now. So far, we’ve got two great results and we have to build on that. It’s been a difficult season for us,” said Pardew, whose team will face Tottenham this weekend.

NEWCASTLE’S FUTURE

Newcastle United were relegated from the Premier league only a few seasons ago, but they managed to come back into the top flight in the first instance. Upon their return to the top flight, they managed to finish in the fifth position amidst all the surprise. Alan Pardew’s diligent management coupled with the arrival of several low-key yet inform players was the reason for the extraordinary season experienced by the club in which they almost qualified for the Champions league. However, this season has been the story of several struggles as the club has failed to put together a run of results.

Their form has also nosedived in recent weeks due to the poor form, which has made them edge closer to the relegation zone. Alan Pardew’s hopes of managing to put together a cup run has also been destroyed after the club lost 2-0 at the hands of Brighton during the weekend. This was the second consecutive time that they have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton. The club has also recently sold the star striker Demba Ba, who was one of the bright aspects of the season, to Chelsea in a £ 7 million deal. A replacement is yet to arrive at the club.

Pardew has suggested that there is a real danger of Newcastle being relegated once again. “Not once this season have I had my best side out. We’re not too big to go down. I think it is important to spend. We lost Cheik and Demba, one to African Nations and one to a transfer. The most important thing for us is our Premier League status now because we’ve put ourselves at risk with all the injuries and the run we’re on,” said Pardew after the Brighton match. The club will face Norwich city during the weekend.

PARDEW HAS FULL SUPPORT

The Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that he has the full support of the boardroom despite the poor run of results, which have left the team just a few points above the relegation zone. Newcastle finished the fifth position last season and they almost qualified for the Champions League. This was extremely impressive considering that they spent very little money on new players and they had recently come up to the Premier league from the Championship. As a result, Newcastle decided to offer the manager a new eight-year contract at the start of this season.

However, ever since the former West Ham manager signed the new contract, Newcastle have been on a downtrend. The club has recently lost the last four matches without exception, which has left them near the bottom of the table. They are currently in the 14th position with just two points separating them from the 18th placed team Southampton. However, Pardew has suggested that he still has the full support of the Newcastle board and also the support of the owner Mike Ashley. He has said that the team will be spending some money in the January transfer window in the hope of reviving the ailing league form.

“The word from the boardroom is concern. We want to get going again and obviously do well. They’ve given me massive support this week in trying to help me get the result we want, almost asking me, ‘What can we do for you?’ At the minute there’s not much they can do for me, if truth be known. I think you have to earn the right to be able to cope with defeats,” said Alan Pardew ahead of the match with Wigan. Newcastle’s last win in the league game against West Brom more than a month ago.

DERBY DRAW

The Premier League match played between Newcastle United and Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday has finished in the form of a draw. Both the teams managed to score one goal each. After gaining one point, Sunderland has now moved up to no. 14 in the points table with 8 points in seven matches. On the other hand, this one point took Newcastle United to no. 11 in the points table with 10 points in 8 matches.

The Newcastle United team had performed pretty poorly in its previous match against Manchester United and had lost that match by 0-3. Sunderland had also been defeated by the same margin by Manchester City in its previous match.

The Newcastle team came into this match with all guns blazing. The score became 1-0 in the favour of Newcastle in the 2nd minute of the match. Yohan Cabaye was the player who found the net for Newcastle. The goal was set up by Demba Ba whose angular cross was capitalized on by the Cabaye. The Frenchman provided the finishing touch wonderfully and Newcastle got ahead in the match. That was the one and only goal to be scored in the first half.

Newcastle managed to maintain its lead in the earlier part of the second half as well. Till the 85th minute of the match, Newcastle was ahead by 1-0. But, the Black Cats were in no mood to give up. They tried to build pressure on the Newcastle players which resulted in an own goal scored by Demba Ba in the 85th minute of the match. There were no more goals scored in the next 5 minutes and the match ended in a draw.

Newcastle United’s next match will be a Europa League encounter against Club Brugge at St. James’ Park.
