The manager of Newcastle United, Alan Pardew, has denied the speculations that Fabricio Coloccini might be making an away move this January.
In one of his interviews a few days ago, Coloccini who is the skipper of Newcastle United had said that he would love to sign for an Argentinean club in future and after that statement of his, there were speculations that he might leave Newcastle during the upcoming mid-season transfer window. But, according to Pardew, there is nothing like that.
When asked about Coloccini’s recent statements, Pardew said, “To be honest, I have no idea what he said in that interview. You are never sure about the credibility of such reports. I haven’t had a chat with Fabricio regarding that. I will talk to him later this week.”
Meanwhile, Coloccini made a comeback to the starting line up of Newcastle United in their previous game against Norwich City. He played quite well in that game and helped his team end up on the winning side. Now, this has given a selection headache to Alan Pardew. If he has to keep Coloccini in the starting line up in the next game as well, he will have to drop Mike Williamson which will be a bit unfair as the English defender hasn’t done badly of late.
However, the Newcastle boss is pleased with the victory that his team secured over Norwich City.
When asked about that match, he said, “We could have played slightly better, but, then, you need to give credit to the opposition as well. They gave us a run for our money, but, the end result was in our favour and that’s what you want.”
Newcastle United’s next game is against West Bromwich Albion at St. James Park on Saturday.
