Everton came into their game against Newcastle United with the poorest record in the division over the last four months. They had a record of one win in their last 13 league games and the loss to Newcastle United earlier this week made it one win in their last 14 league games. The solitary win came against Arsenal as they overturned a late first half deficit to beat the Gunners 2-1 at home.
