What many people forget (or don’t know) is that Newcastle also lost to non-League opposition in 1964, 2-1 at home to Bedford Town. Bedford were player-managed that day by Jock Wallace, who was also player-manager of Berwick Rangers when they beat (Glasgow) Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup in 1967. Awesome!
